This month spread the word about the importance of treating everyone around us with respect, dignity, and kindness no matter their gender, age, race, political views, or social status. National Human Rights Month is about acknowledging that people are people, plain and simple. If we take the time to learn about other cultures, we will begin to see things from their perspective and be able to better understand them as real people.
Other notable observances this month; National Drunk & Drugged Driving Prevention Month; Worldwide Food Service Safety Month; National Write A Business Plan Month; National Pear Month; National Car Donation Month; Universal Human Rights Month; National Tie Month

FATA is dedicated to promoting and celebrating fashion in an uplifting way. While it might seem superficial, fashion is a powerful medium for addressing mental health issues. The clothes we wear can impact our mood, cognitive abilities and our performance of certain tasks. In the United States, we have a month that is dedicated to mental health awareness, however it's a conversation that needs to be had all year long. From this perspective we're spotlighting, the brand My Mental Health Dress by Doreen Olivier from Johannesburg, South Africa. We love the positive messages that offer relief and style. Check out the flip book above and click dress to learn more. You can support by purchasing merchandise. Shipping is available to the US.

Her first clothing line debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011 which of course included designs for the disabled. You can check her out on Twitter and Instagram.

Simone Smith launched her women’s jewelry collection after recovering from a near-fatal bout of rare bone cancer with her first design, a lollipop pendant called A Sweet Touch of Hope, becoming her signature. Now, with this year being the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, Smith turned her attention to men and will launch a mens line called Majesty at the end of the month with elevated materials and price points from her previous Legacy mens line. "Paying homage to the hip-hop culture,” the pieces are as larger and chunkier as well, Smith said, adding that they were inspired by looks popular in the ’80s and ’90s.
Whether it was dark and broody, athleisure, eveningwear, streetwear, or even the classic chic look, the brand pulled straight from the archives for this collection and made sure to keep all of the fun with leg warmers, bright colors, heavy layered necklaces, and light up heels!
